Inevitability and the CVS Greeting Card Factor

While vacationing in the Chicago suburbs with the family, we stopped in a local CVS so my wife could get a strep throat test at the pioneer ing leader in retail health care, the Minute Clinic.

While I waited to see if the rest of our vacation would be spent (a) laid out on my in-law’s couch, or (b) laid out on my in-law’s couch while taking hardcore antibiotics, I perused the store. While idly looking through the greeting cards section, I came across one with a cartoon of Senator Clinton on the cover. It was not a particularly cruel or even accurate caricature. It was just a pleasant looking blond woman, sitting behind the desk in the oval office, wearing a smug smile on her lips. The inside read “You See? There are scarier things than getting a year older.” How precious.

While I may not be one of Mrs. Clinton’s biggest supporters, I do find the very existence of this type of card to be a tad unnerving. The media, and a fair amount of my fellow democrats, have already decided on Hillary as their inevitable nominee. Others find her campaign to be so preposterous, such an obvious joke, that its worthy of it’s own greeting card!

Why did the chicken cross the road? To vote for that broad Hillary Clinton! LOL!

Obviously, this would spell some problems in the general election. Perhaps it isn’t such a great idea to support a candidate who’s greatest asset is that everyone else seams to like her.

Especially when she isn’t very well liked.

  1. Hey man.

Chicago hates Ms. Clinton. It is indeed a little unnerving. Seeing as how she’s from Oak Park or something. She sounds like my aunt Linda/father’s wife, which is REALLY unnerving every time I hear her on the radio.
