Pinko Magazine Hedonism + Activism

Seattle has found a pretty awesome way to popularize mass transit: The SLUT. Last month Seattle unveiled the “South Lake Union Trolley,” a new line connecting several disparate sections of downtown. While clearly there is a lot for Pinko to work with here (AmFuck anyone?), we are most excited about the SLUT’s hot, tight, naughty red outfit, and about the Mayor’s advice to his townspeople: “I don’t care what you call it as long as you ride it.” Amen! We also like that it expects 330,000 rides in 2008. In all seriousness the zany acronym makes transit kind of fun, which we’re all for, and my friends in Seattle also tell me that riding the SLUT is a good start towards improved mobility in Seattle. It also gives us a new idea for the impending 2nd avenue subway in New York: the West Harlem Onboard Rail Express.
