I want one I want one!

uhm, ewww. From a local station in Wisconsin:

A pro-life group in Racine is under fire after mailing controversial material to 44,000 people. It included an informational letter, a fundraising envelope and a small plastic fetus.

My favorite reaction: “Peggy Bell didn’t know what to do with the tiny plastic fetus she received in the mail, so she recycled it.”

  1. “My favorite reaction: “Peggy Bell didn’t know what to do with the tiny plastic fetus she received in the mail, so she recycled it.””

Lol, just Lol. bet the pro lifers didnt have THAT in mind for their grotesque waste of plastic.

  2. Interesting tactic … so bad its good? I assume it was a misfire, a stupid tactic thought up by overzealous folks. But there’s an off chance its a great strategy to get media attention to an issue. I’d love to know where they mailed it. Clearly not entirely targeted to their base, since a pro-choice woman got one. And why would you send it to your base, anyways? As a thank you gift? “Choose the tote bag, or the small plastic fetus.”

    Yuck.

  3. Many infants and children die each year from choking. The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests the following, among other tips on their website, to reduce the chances of choking:

Frequently check under furniture and between cushions for dangerous items young children could find, including:

    coins
    marbles
    watch batteries
    pen or marker caps
    plastic fetuses
cars with small rubber wheels that come off
small balls or foam balls that can be compressed to a size small enough to fit in a child’s mouth

    Now THAT’s funny.

I’m pro-life (at least compared to most people) and I’d be annoyed by this marketing ploy and send my money to another group instead. It’s just spam with a random bit of anatomical reference thrown in.

  5. I like the concept, however it wouldn’t work for me.

  6. want one? i thought you WERE one…
