Vegan Brownies Straight from the Box (To Your Hips)

bubbleboy.gifIt used to be hard to be vegan and fat. Thankfully, Cherrybrook Kitchen has figured out a way for me to be both, and gluten free to boot, with their Gluten Free Dreams Fudge Brownie Mix. The Gluten Free Dreams Fudge Brownie Mix (or LGBTQTSGNC for short) is peanut free, dairy free, egg free, nut free, wheat free and gluten free. It may actually be the first boxed brownie mix that wouldn't kill the boy in the plastic bubble (unless he's allergic to soy). Despite apparently not having anything in them, they do an impressive job of imitating cake-like, chocolate chip brownies. They do have a very slight chalky after taste, but overall we found them pretty close to the real thing. If you're in the mood for some allergy-free, guilt-ridden gorging, pick up a box and get your thunder-thigh on.

Editor's Note: We found the cooking instructions to be a little off. We suggest cooking them up at 350 for about 20 minutes for best results. Cooking them for 12-14 minutes, as the box suggests, will get you something more similar to a melted candy bar. Mmmm... melted candy bar...
