I just hate it when Democrats start acting like Republicans. New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer has been caught with his pants down, or some other vaguely sexual euphemism:

Gov. Eliot Spitzer has informed his most senior administration officials that he had been involved in a prostitution ring, an administration official said this morning.

Mr. Spitzer, who was huddled with his top aides early this afternoon, had hours earlier abruptly canceled his scheduled public events for the day. He is set to make an announcement about 2:15 this afternoon at his Manhattan office.

Mr. Spitzer, a first-term Democrat who pledged to bring ethics reform and end the often seamy ways of Albany, is married with three children.

Thats just great. Next we are going to find out they’re girl prostitutes!

Update: New York’s next governor will be a black, gay, blind guy. That’s like, 35 historic firsts at once!

Update from Ben: MSNBC’s coverage is priceless. The anchors names are Savannah and Contessa, they went first for “critical reaction” to Alan Dershowitz, they just uttered the line “the taint may be too much” for Eliot Spitzer, then moved to a conversation about “how immigrants drivers licenses play into this,” as well as talking about the old days, when Spitzer was thought to be a good candidate for “first Jewish president.” Oy!
