Dear Crazy Christians: Leave my childhood alone.

bfhorton.jpgSeriously, Religious Right: Horton Hears a Who as anti-abortion propaganda? Is nothing sacred? It was bad enough when you made Bert and Ernie a bastion of the Gay Agenda - and then in short order Sponge Bob too subtext. While there’s nothing I can do about the fact that hollywood feels like they need to destroy my favorite childhood books by turning them all into bad movies, I can use this platform to direct vitriole at those who feel the need to decontextualize. Just because Horton realizes that all voices matter, doesn’t mean you can hijack Seuss for your seuto-science Right to Life bullshit. These are books - for kids - about dealing with the frustration of being a kid when no one wants to listen or take you seriously; not abortion, not gayness, not nothin’ else. Maybe next you can have Ann Coulter decide that Santa stories are little too heavy on the black magic and ruin ChistXmas for everyone (wait, she did that already didn’t she…). What a bitch Grinch!
