Pinko Mag to Mark Penn: Is It My Birthday?!!
Mark Penn, former Hillary Clinton Strategist and our #4 on the top ten list of people we’d like to waterboard, has been shit-canned by the Clinton campaign for moonlighting in Columbia. Don’t worry. He still has his job as CEO of global PR Giant Burson-Marsteller where he helps fight the good fight for sub-prime mortgage lenders, union-busters and some little Mom-n-Pop shop called Blackwater. That sure is a relief.
We are told that Mark Penn has many ideas about things and whatnot, but he is perhaps best known for his work “Moving the goalpost”. Essentially, whenever someone like Barack Obama would win a contest critical to Hillary’s campaign, Marky Mark would “move the goalpost” and declare the contest insignificant or unfair. This served two purposes.
- It irritated people and
- It turned the Presidential campaign of one of the most popular and interesting public figures of the 21st century into a joke.
And for that, every Obama supporter owes Mark Penn a debt of gratitude.

Mark Penn has NOT left the Clinton campaign. If you read the press release, it said he would still be around to do “polling and advice.” Isn’t that what he always did?
Here’s a story I wrote on Sunday night when the news broke:

After my story came out, the Clinton campaign did a conference call in which Mark Penn participated — just like the good old days. Now the Obama camp has a conference call today with James Hoffa of the Teamsters Union to say that it’s not enough to demote Mark Penn — you gotta fire him.
Seriously. He didn’t get fired. They’ve just put him behind the scenes and pretend they fired him.
Yeah, it sounds now like Mark Penn just got his desk moved out of the corner office and in to the office next door. He’s still Hillary’s go to guy.
Boo.
Why should Billary start acting like they talk now? Maybe moving next door will keep him safe from stray sniper fire, anyway.
[...] Remember when Hillary Clinton fired her chief strategist for backing the Colombian Trade Deal she, like, totally opposes? Truth be told, that was pretty [...]
