Green Toys

greentoys.jpgI went yesterday to buy my daughter a tea set. Every little boy needs a tea set, and with careful monitoring, it is sometimes permissible to allow girls to play with them too.

I stopped by my local toy store and was pleased to find a set made from recycled milk jugs. The company, Green Toys, wont win many points for “most original company name” but they will earn points from parent for making sturdy, attractive toys. Kids apparently like them too.

  1. Just as every young man must learn to hold the baseball bat and take his turn at the plate, tie a single windsor knot, remove a bra strap with one hand (if that is his inclination), un-stop a toilet, grill a burger (or whatever) and change a tyre, so must he also learn that only barbarians take sugar in their tea. Bring the water just to a boil, pour the water over the tea (into a pot, for God’s sake!), steep for 3 minutes and then drink.

My preference is for Jasmine White Tea, with soy milk (rice milk will do in a pinch) and honey. Hey, don’t say it ain’t macho. What?
