I Hate Tuesdays

It’s Tuesday, again. That means that the democratic nomination hangs in the balance, again. So I guess that means that I need to write something about Obama and Clinton and whatnot, again. I’m really starting to get sick of this. Anyway, here are some things to keep in mind while we wait for the eternal slumber of sweet, sweet death.

• Hillary surrogate Sen. Robert Menendez was on MSNBC continuing her campaigns fatwā against “elite” common sense and sound policy. His take: “Thank God we don’t have economists making public policy”. TPM has the video.

• Also, Hillary Clinton apparently understands what it’s like to pinch every penny. Despite her massive fortune she has managed to stay grounded. Obama just doesn’t get it because he’s an elite commie pinko terrorist elitist who lives in a condominium like some kind of damn Rockefeller. Keep laughing. This crap is actually working for her.

• The polls in Indiana and North Carolina are painfully close. Painful because any loss by Obama, even in a Hillary stronghold like Indiana, will be viewed as evidence of his inability to “close the deal”.  Also, anything short of a total blowout in North Carolina will be viewed as evidence that Hillary Clinton’s message is resonating with voters (see above).

• All of this is academic of course since Hillary’s team has already let slip their plans to cut the meddlesom voter’s out completely and orchestrate a coup via the Democratic Party’s 30-member Rules and Bylaws Committee. The plan, dubbed the “nuclear option” would seat the fictional disputed Florida and Michigan delegations and give Hillary a 55 delegate lead.

This could have some adverse side effects of course. It would likely disenfranchise a majority of democrats and more or less ensure that no democrat will be elected president for 30 years. But that’s the risk we’ll have to take to ensure that the weaker, less liked candidate is our nominee in the fall.

Democracy in action!
