The Aftermath…

Wow, um. ok. I didn’t think that would happen.

The pundits predicted Hillary would win Indiana and Obama would win North Carolina. They weren’t wrong. Obama did win N.C., and decisively, but the margin of victory in Indiana was so small that CNN refused to announce a winner until well after midnight. The final numbers have Hillary winning by less than 2%.

Here is some of the fallout from last night:

In other news, Sam Stein at HuffPo is noting that McCain had kind of a rough night last night. Even though he has the Republican nomination wrapped up, he is still seeing a surprising number of votes go to Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney and Ron “Frontrunner” Paul (Huckabee is still pulling double digits). That’s bad news for McCain in the general election, which makes it good news for all carbon based life forms in the universe.

  1. What is this “Ron “Front-runner” Paul” supposed to mean??? I’m a Paul supporter and I have no illusions that he’s going to win nor would I call him a front-runner. Why is it all these columnists feel the need to treat Dr. Paul as a joke? I don’t see any snide remarks about Romney, or Huckabee…

  2. “I don’t see any snide remarks about Romney, or Huckabee…”

You clearly haven’t been reading our archives.

  3. Clinton should have dropped out of the race a while ago. The only reason she is still getting votes is because of her husband and pissed of women that want something to rub in their cheating husbands faces. Although Obama is as full of shit as any other politician because lets not forget here, he IS a politician. He will more than likely be the next president of the united states. He went out and did what needed to be done, that being capturing the youth vote, actually doing what he said he was going to do ( i want him in the whitehouse to see what happens with that record) and executed it well.

  4. in all honesty all candidates should just pull out now…obviously Obama will win. (much to my dismay)

  5. First of all the idea that either one of these candidates will bow out of the race is an illusion. With the clear devide in demographics that both Obama and Clinton have it will be in the best interest of the Democratic party to have BOTH of them run under the same ticket in the general election.

With both of them under one ticket in the general election it will be a landslide victory come November with a Pres and VP with such overhwelming popular support to be able to affect some real meaningful change in this country.

That is of course supposing that both of these candidates have any real goals in helping this country turn around.

That I am still not convinced of yet.

  6. I think that Obama should choose Ron Paul as his running mate, crossing party-lines for a ticket that is entirely in the right on the war in Iraq. Ron Paul and Barack Obama are the two people who have ignited passions in this country. Ron Paul and Barack Obama would be amazing together. Ron Paul.

  7. You’re just saying Ron Paul to drive up our traffic! (Ron Paul Ron Paul Viagra Ron Paul)

  8. All I gotta say about Hillary … Ding, Dong the Witch is dead! It’s gonna feel so good to stop writing about Hillary Clinton and why she’s such a bad candidate. Now I can spend all my time saying mean things about John McCain. Woo-hoo!!

  9. I am giddy, though I think the witch references may be a bit much …

    still, yes, bring on McCaingerous.

    (Ron Paul viagra Ron Paul.)

  10. Ron Paul and Ralph Nader are the only two candidates that actually care about the people of the United States.

  11. What about Cynthia McKinney???
