The best place to go if you’ve ever wanted to eat a drum circle

Caravan of Dreams Restaurant

Caravan of Dreams isn't for the casual vegetarian. You won't find any braised faux-meat in sticky sweet sauces or chicken-free chicken wings here. In short, this place is no bullshit. When you come to Caravan of Dreams you
will be eating green stuff. N'est-ce pas?
What you will find, and in no short supply, is deliciously
healthy vegan food. You'll also find low-key live music every night, $5 community yoga classes 4 times a week, and more white guys with dreadlocks than you could ever shake
a set of devil sticks at.
The whole place, right down to the acid trip inspired moon and star murals, feels like a swatch of western Massachusetts has been transported to the east side of Manhattan. For some of us that's a really good thing.
Prices here are
not cheap but you get what you pay for. The portions are big enough to choke a horse. They wouldn't dream of it of course. Choking horses it totally
not vegan. Portions of the menu are "live" (read: raw). That's pretty cool for people who aren't in to the whole 'cooking stuff' thing but to the untrained palate they may come off as overly oily. Stick to the their other fare to be on the safe side.
Pinko Recommends: The young coconuts, the classic nachos and sitting in the back room.
Ideal for: Raw foodists, vegan kosher extremeists and poor defenseless animals.
File Under: New York, Pink List
i was there last weekend and the most douchebaggy of all douchebags yelled at a waitress because he didnt like the music and said he would NEVER eat there again. GO EAT THERE if only to spite him.
