BREAKING: John Cusack’s War Inc. Premiere Marred by Racist Looting!

duffSo last night was an advance screening at the New York Film Academy of John Cusack’s new film on Blackwater war privatization and profiteering, War Inc., starring fucking Hillary Duff HOW GREAT IS THAT!? Anyway, things were going smoothly for maybe like, a minute when the sound stopped synching up with the film, followed by 8 minutes of intermittent silence. Realizing that the fucked up projection and random silence weren’t part of Cusack’s vision, some NYFA bigwigs and War Inc’s publicist confronted the flummoxed projectionist, when apparently all hell broke loose.

According to Kelly, Pinko’s intrepid source on the scene, a scuffle broke out in the projectionist booth, with the bigwigs and the publicist and the projectionist dropping some serious F-Bombs and the bigwigs screaming that they had just been assaulted by the projectionist. The crowd started screaming at the projectionist to go back to high school, when someone in the audience noticed that he was KOREAN and screamed at him to “go back to where you came from” (33rd & 5th, presumably) which elicited a series of shocked “oh no you didnt’s” from the left-leaning and progressive but clearly violent, racist and blood-thirsty crowd.

At that point someone told the whole crowd — some of whom had driven from Pennsylvania to redeem winning tickets to the premiere — to “get the fuck out” , so everyone left. Kelly told me that for much of the argument everyone just assumed that some sort of lefty guerilla theatre was going on.

The unkindest cut? Much of the crowd was on hand to see a post-film discussion moderated by Air America and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, but as the violence flared Rachael was nowhere to be found. WHERE was Rachel Maddow, and why does she hate her liberal fan base and Koreans?

The organizers apologized for the “technical glitch” and promised a do-over on Wednesday, presumably with a different projectionist. You should still see the movie; more at the War Inc website:

I’ve known for a long time that the left is filled with bloodthirsty xenophobes, but I am surprised to hear about shouting in the movie theater. In my informal field studies of liberals in their native habitat, I have observed their tendency to remain quiet in movie theaters, resorting only to the over-the-shoulder-disgruntled-glare when faced with a challenging fellow cinema goer. Perhaps the pheromones unleashed by Hillary Duffs onscreen presence set off a tidal wave of unbalanced leftist hormones, unseen since since Scott Raab’s 2004 date with Ann Coulter, recounted in the pages of Esquire.
