Mother MAY I (comment on this Pinko post?)
The Democratic primary May is over! It was so pretty here and so much crazy shit happened. May was a very bad month to be a fundamentalist Mormon child in Texas, but a very good month to be gay in California. Coincidence? Clearly it was a fantastic month to be a Pinko reader, where many important lessons were learned:
* Dawn introduced us to the diva cup, setting a record for gratuitous uses of the word “cooch” in a single post.
* I met Obama girl (OMFG!) and Stirling interviewed our first famous person, the fabulous Britta Phillips (of Dean & Britta and Luna) about her latest work and her weekend on the campaign trail in Indiana.
* We started a new feature highlighting great non-profits. Now you can do important things like go to Everyblock.com and search for crime statistics on your street, or visit Porn for the Blind and record an awkward, oddly dispassionate narrative blow-by-blow of the film “MILF Soup.”
* Everyone learned about some great new products like Simple Shoes, and great new bands like Jamie and the Boyfriends. (Check out those tan-lines rawr!)
Also some large 8-year olds bought cigarettes, this man has remarkably pointy junk, and we broke TWO exclusives … reporting first on the shocking racial incident at the War, Inc. premiere and then producing exclusive, even-more-shocking, movie-spoiling photos of the back of Cynthia Nixon’s bodyguard’s brother’s cousin’s head at the Sex and the City opening.
The biggest development, of course, was learning that using the words Tokio Hotel and Ron Paul in the same blog post is hands down the best way to generate comments, debate and web traffic.
