open thread madness!
Hi Pinko fans! so I’m headed out of town for the weekend to a little shack where i will do many green and sustainable and conscientiously hedonistic things and then be able to “blog” them Monday. Stirling is doing lots of WORK and raising a child and what-what and has a crazy weekend too. It may be quiet in Pinkotown, but it doesn’t HAVE to be. Let’s try this.
1. The record for the number of comments on a Pinko post is 24. For Tokio Hotel. (yes, your update is coming.)
2. You guys are brilliant.
3. Go! What to do!? We need to set an open thread madness comment record. If we break it EVERYONE gets a t-shirt. You think I’m kidding!? Not kidding. Tshirt. Let’s get there. Topics may include:
** Old jokes about John McCain. (this was hysterical!)
** Musings on recently eaten sustainable foods.
** Summer fun recommendations.
** ron Paul vagina “its my first time” viagra Tokio Hotel Barack Obama muslim Ron Paul search engine optimization.
** Ideas for Pinko articles.
** Imagined correspondence between Barack Obama and Scarlett Johannsen.
GO!

Believe it or not, there are some thing about Tokio Hotel that might interest you. Try looking into their historic performance in Isreal last year, how it came about and why it was special.
From what I understand, Tokio Hotel fans in Israel sent petitions to the Israeli consulate in Berlin asking TH to play in Tel Aviv. It worked. Democracy in action!
This more or less jibes with what we’ve seen here at Pinkomag. Y’all are organized!
Ethanol Fuel: another way that green intentions starve poor people.
The road to hell is paved with green intentions.
Really? I always thought the road to hell was paved with the Gold Standard … as per our discussion last week.
There are a couple things that interested me about Tokio Hotel’s Isreal visit. Firstly, how many German bands had performed in Isreal recently? I’m not 100% sure, but I’m think zero.
Also, the press reaction in Isreal… I saw reports go so far as to claim that Tokio Hotel was trying to raise an army of young people in Isreal; though I never understood for what purpose.
There is one interview where the reporter tries repeatedly (ten times!) to get TH to talk about the Nazis and history and politics in general.
Their professionalism showed during this interview, they did not give the reporter the answers she was looking for. I tried to search for this interview, it supposed to be on berlinonline.de from Sept. 30, 2007 but I’m having no luck finding it. I still have the English translation in my email though.
