Stop the fare hikes!

This is a quick and completely New York-centric post, but a coalition of groups have a petition going to halt another impending fare hike on MTA. I’m always someone who is happy to pay for transit, but the latest fare hike strikes me as desperation and no solution.

Also I ride the 4/5 train to work everyday except for when the 5 decides it’s a 2 and the 4 says it’s a 3 but still goes up the east side and then I spend 9 hours at Bowling Green which is the weirdest station in the system and I don’t feel like paying more for that shit.

In any case you should give this petition a look: http://haltthehike.org/

  1. Good luck! I have little faith in a petition though. The MTA doesn’t give a shit.

Aren’t there organizations in NY working on transit issues that have a large base?
