Who is the economic whiz-kid behind the financial services and banking deregulation that lead our economy to the brink of collapse this weekend? That's right! McCain's "economic brain" and former campaign co-chair Phil Gramm. And who do Americans think can best handle the economy? Barack Obama 48% John McCain 45% And McCain is trending upwards... [Updated.] Speaking of the economy, Joe Biden and Barack Obama both went after John McCain hard today for his assertion this morning that “the fundamentals of our economy are strong.” Let's go to the tape: So the Obama campaign is now officially playing offense on the economy. So the question becomes "will people listen?" Or more pointedly "will the media actually cover it?"

  1. The poll was taken last Wednesday, i.e., before the Lehman Bros. implosion. It’ll be interesting to see if anything shifts as a result since Obama is going to hit McCain hard on this.

  2. Someone needs to drop this shit in the right wing’s lap, where it belongs, and Obama had better get on it with such bold-faced persistence that the media can’t shush it up. Obama needs to be frikkin Rain Man about this. “He did it. He did it. He did it.”

  3. Of course I don’t have my underwear. I’m definitely not wearing my underwear.

  4. The funny part is, I was thinking Rain Man, but it was actually a totally different Hoffman role: it was mumbles in Dick Tracy. “Big Boy did it. Big Boy did it.”

  5. VOTE RAIN MAN
