Tuesday: Clothing Wars.
PINKO DAILY BRIEFS: One week from today we’ll be voting! Let’s hope the weather is better. And the World Series is over. As it stands now things are strong for Obama, who delivered his “closing argument” speech yesterday. John McCain has been forgetting a lot of things lately. First he forgot some of his key endorsers. Then he forgot the man who saved his life. There is a flyer making the rounds Virginia that forgets what day Election Day is. That’s not intentional is it? Michelle Obama remembers where she shops: J Crew. Also, and this is crazy, the consignment shop in Anchorage where Sarah Palin shops is called “Out of the Closet.” The chain of frankly really, really bad consigment shops HIV/AIDS fundraising thrift shops in San Francisco is called ”Out of the Closet.” So the San Francisco-based chain is demanding the store in Anchorage stop using their name! That seems like a little much to Pinko. Finally two quick things: Yes Magazine has a fantastic resource, 12 Ways to Protect Your Vote. Pass it along. And if you’re still looking for a solid explication and debunking of the ACORN kerfluffle, the first segment on my radio show this week, RadioNation with Laura Flanders, looks at the issue. Other guests include journalist Patrick Cockburn discussing conditions on the ground in Iraq and Katrina vanden Heuvel on her efforts to take down that loony Congresswoman from Minnesota who thinks all Democrats should be investigated as anti-American.
