Thursday: The day after the infomercial.
PINKO DAILY BRIEFS: My friend Rob Eshelman wrote this really beautiful piece (”Meeting Myself in Bucks County”) about returning to his hometown in suburban Philly to check in on voters the week before the election. Read every word. It’s Thursday, four days until the election and Obama’s infomercial last night was a hit to most, especially the Washington Post TV critic: “Poetic and practical, spiritual and sensible … an elegant combination of pictures, sounds, voices and music.” Jesus. I thought the 30-minute spot was just stunningly well done. Meanwhile McCain stayed cheerful too, trying desperately to link Obama to the Muslim world while Sarah Palin talks openly about running for President … in 2012. Lastly, what could be hotter than an Obama victory on Tuesday? This sexy-naughty campaign robocall. Woof! Thanks PinkoPaul for sending.
Also: Go Phillies! I never know what a sports title means to a city, especially a down-on-it’s’-luck town like Philadelphia. But it certainly doesn’t hurt. Congratulations.
