It’s just so amazing.
I’m watching Gene Robinson cry on MSNBC. And the crowd in Chicago. And what we’re watching tonight is just so beautiful, so much bigger than race. Stirling and I are going to have a hard time capturing this, and may be sporadic blogging for the next while. What can we say? America rejected hate. America rejected fear. We voted for hope, and what does it even feel like to wake up in a nation that believes in something better, instead of fearing something worse. It’s beyond anything we can capture.
To all who volunteered, thank you. To all who fought, thank you. Tomorrow we wake up in a different world.

I’m crying too, a little. I guess I never thought this country would come through with it and have some sense in the end. Not only did we elect a black man, we elected a SMART man who may one day pull us out of the mess we are in. I’m crying out of joy and pride and history. It was never about race to me. I feel so hopeful, and a little vulnerable now too. Yay for Florida going blue!!!!!
