On the media.
This is amazing, seeing all these states come in for Obama. I feel great. The coverage is frustrating though. I wanted a blowout, of course, but seeing “calls” and “projections” made without numbers, plus the inevitability of the recent polls feels anticlimactic. Maybe I need the big speech. Maybe I need Anderson Cooper to take his shirt off. But there is something almost flat about the media coverage, watching the pundits go on and on and on while the news — who is winning what, and by how much — happens on the side of the screen. It will pick up once we get a speech and some joyful people!
Note: We’re at 175! I am excited, I just think the coverage is dull. Even fucking Arizona is too close to call. YAY.
UPDATE: My sister just texted about how Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow is her dream team. Sure, her name is Rachael but my sister spells it different. Maybe it’s less that the coverage is boring and more that I have a wine buzz, which is less cantankerous than a scotch buzz. Discuss.

Fucking A, I should be drunk…
I bet Anderson Cooper sorta looks like Larry King with his shirt off, but with a hotter head. with 3% of the vote in, I’m calling it….
I find if one is in the midst of political upheaval, one ought to be drinking sake, man. It provides a certain clarity that other alcohols can’t approach.
Rach and I were just discussing that we’ll need to be around you and your circle of friends when the next election rolls around. She misses you, and I think it’d be fun. Have a good time and be safe!
Kampai!
