PinkoPredicts! Our best guesses.
People are voting. (Hot people. Seriously you should have seen my polling place this morning!) Cockswing Bluff or whatever went 15-6 for Obama. Game on. With many many grains of salt here’s what we think will go down; leave your predictions in the comments. Winner gets a Pinko t-shirt!
Ben Wyskida, Pinko Co-Founder
EV: Obama 320, McCain 218. Obama pulls a shocker in Montana.
Popular: 51% Obama 46% McCain
Senate: Dems get to 60 Senate seats with a surprise knockoff in some random southern state.
Gay: Prop 8 goes down (we want that) by a hair in California. Gays marry forever.
Charles “Sandy” London, Author, Dandy & Pinko Contributor
EV: Obama 398, McCain 148. Obama will take Indiana, VA, Ohio, NC, and FL, Missouri. And, just to be fun, and I’m adding Georgia.
Popular: Popularity is an illusion.
Gay: Charles reports many cute boys at his polling place.
Random: facebook activity will be 40% higher than normal today.
Stirling McLaughlin, Pinko Co-Founder
EV: I am going to side with Karl Rove (what? I know!) and say Obama 338, McCain 200. Obama will take Florida, Virginia Pennsylvania and Nevada but a loss in Indiana.
Popular: Stirling was not popular in high school.
Gay: Don’t mention Jake Gyllenhall to Stirling, ever, for the sake of his wife and baby.

Scenario 1: In my dream scenario, PA is called for Obama as soon as polls close with VA being called for Obama shortly after. McCain is done if those two states are called early and I get to go to sleep before 1am.
Scenario 2: In my nightmare scenario, McCain wins. Jesus. Fucking. Shit.
Okay okay Shaun give us a number: Obama 325+
Erik Moe, Nonprofit Web & Design Guru, Former Chris Dodd ‘08 Staffer (remember that shit!)

Popular: In college.
Random:
+ Sleep in Washington DC will triple by Thursday night.
+ The phrase “purple states” will be heard eleven hundred times.
+ The phrase “orange states” will be heard at least once.

Kate Predicts:
I’ve been traveling for work this week and I’ve gotten to meet a whole cross-section of folks I never would have otherwise. The dad next to me on the plane, the single woman in the airport bar. And, living in New York, I saw something else for the first time: TONS of anti-Obama TV ads. I’ve been in the Las Vegas airport sports bar/lounge/hell for 4 straight hours and it’s a 527 marathon. Back to back. The old classic episodes of “we’re all Joe the Plumber” to new installments of “People like Obama don’t understand small business.”
And you know what? People from all over the country sat in that bar/trainwreck/outhouse and watched. The only boo’s came from the 3 interceptions the Cowboys second string QB managed against the Giants. And you know what? That’s exactly how it’s supposed to be.
In this campaign it’s been kind of hard to remember a time when people were just people and politics was something only wonks followed. But still, at the end of the day, this is America and we’re all going to be ok. I really mean it. Do I want Obama to win? Fuck yeah. Do I think McCain/Palin is a terrible road for America? Yes. But I also hate the Cowboys, and the people in that bar let me cheer for the Giants as loud as I wanted.
So my prediction? We’ll still be a big ball of hot mess come wednesday morning no matter who wins. Whether a changing policy under Obama or a hold on tight toss up with McCain, we’ll still all be in it together.
