Okay, okay let’s relive Election Night.

Last night my friend Evans shared the highlight of his Election Night: hearing from two blocks away at 125th Street in Harlem a woman directing a mass electric slide over a bullhorn. (Quiz: who can do both the old and the new electric slide?) I came across this long but really awesome minute by minute [...]

I feel the same way.

This was a funny post from Ben Smith at Politico this morning:
An Episcopal priest I know well emails:
“I can’t begin to imagine what the other side of the election feels like for you but I, for one, am really missing the regular e-mails and text messages from the Obama campaign. I feel as if [...]

Deep thought.

I just rewatched Barack Obama’s speech last night. Can I still give him money? Please? How do I give him more money.

Great illustration.

From Patrick Moberg … this is so great.

awww! Yes we can redux.

That amazing Palin as President site (where you could shoot the deer and make the sofa talk, etc.) has appropriately updated itself. Was the race only about race?

The election of the first African-American in history is amazing. I get it, and the history of the moment is almost indescribable. But the entire conversation today is about race. Like the unyielding shots of Oprah and Jesse Jackson last night during Obama’s speech, today’s coverage is … Spike Lee, NAACP, video from Harlem. That’s [...]

A beautiful night in the making.

Pat Buchanan just said “hit the bottom.” That’s pretty gross. Hit the bottom, work the middle. That was McCain’s strategy. And while Buchanan is saying it about McCain (he hit bottom), Barack Obama is the one who really hit the bottom (of the economic scale) and worked the middle (of the electorate) in the sexy [...]

Deep thought.

If Obama wins, and if he follows through on his promises about Iraq, we are going to see every single Republican candidate for 2012 next summer hammering home the idea of “defeat” next summer. It will be up to us to remind America that we don’t want to be in Iraq anymore. It won’t be [...]
